Imagine an Ice cream Cone without the Cone

Imagine if the nice girl at the ice cream stand just handed you a ball or two of ice cream. No cone. No cup.  No spoon. Yes, it’s ice cream, but you can’t do much with it, except wipe your hands and look at her like she’s maybe not all there.  Clearly her delivery was way off.

Communications can be like that. Bad delivery can kill the message.

A great plan, key messages, really good information – they are lost if the delivery is off. So, it’s important to ask yourself – am I serving up my communications without a cone? Three signs you might be.

1. People tune you out, you can’t seem to move forward.

2. Your communications is starting to be watered down and over simplified by others.

3. The role of communications is being minimized and diminished within your organization.

Remember - the messenger matters. Your delivery is the cone – it matters, it makes it possible for people to engage with your communications.
